Logo Pro Bono (from the Latvian pro bono publico – for the sake of the public good) is the provision of professional assistance to charities, public and other non-profit organizations on a free of charge basis. Pro Bono offers free legal assistance to socially-oriented charitable, non-governmental organizations, volunteer movements and public initiatives, in some cases to public institutions (such as museums), as well as business projects that are founded and implemented on the principles of social entrepreneurship.
Pro Bono offers the following assistance:
Preparation of templates for documents regulating the organization’s activities (acts, treaties, statutes, orders, etc.);
Conduct legal audit of organization documents;
Legal analysis of the problem situation, including compliance with international law;
Advice on legal issues;
Preparation of legal substantiation of recommendations or proposals to bodies of power and local self-government;
Preparation of proposals for amendments to the legislation;
Legal expert examination of gender issues;
Legal support of issues related to the implementation of copyright, protection of personal data;
Clarification of legal issues related to gaining profit in the public sector;
Conduct of law-enforcement activities (lectures, seminars, etc.).
