During April 22-24 the third in a row monitoring of legal clinics was held. This time the results reflected level of coherence of O.Honchar Dnipro National University Legal Clinic activity to the Quality Standards of the ALCU.
Three experts – professors Andrii Halai and Serhii Hrechaniuk, and human rights activist Taras Shcherbatiuk conducted the monitoring which traditionally wraped up with the public discussion of the monitoring outcomes. Representatives of local authorities, NGOs and state legal aid system were present at the presentation and discussion went even beyond the monitoring itself, as participants talked about the importance and perspective effectivenes of legal clinics in overall, and – in particular – for the whole human rights protection environment.
The Legal Clinic of the O.Honchar DNU was claimed to correspond the high basic level and, like the LC “Femida” in Mariupol – gained 57% rating.
Monitorings are being held within the implementation of the ‘Development of institutional capacity of the Association / network of legal clinics of Ukraine’ Project in partnership with the Ukrainian Legal Aid Foundation, supported by the International Renaissance Foundation.
