A three-day human rights-based training for civil servants and representatives of the public sector is held by the MART public organization on the initiative of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine in the framework of democratic governance projects that are implemented by the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine with the financial support of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Purpose of the training course: To form the basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills in applying the human rights-based approach to the implementation of projects and programs of local and regional development in participants .
Invited to participate:
1) representatives of bodies of state authority, bodies of local self-government, responsible for planning of local development programs, or representatives of legal services of relevant bodies,
2) leaders and activists of civil society institutions, and
3) employees of other organizations involved in working with authorities in the analysis, planning, development, implementation and monitoring of local development programs.
The organizers will select the participants of the training on the basis of the open competition and will form joint groups of representatives of the authorities and the public sector (25 persons for each training).
Training courses will be held:
In Lviv – July 4-6, 2018 for participants from: Ternopil, Volyn, Zacarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv Regions.
In Vinnytsya – July 11-13, 2018 for participants from: Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsya, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Chernivts Regionsi.
In Odessa, on July 18-20, 2018, for participants from: Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, Kirovograd, Odessa, Kherson Regions.
In Kyiv, on July 25-27, 2018, for participants from: Kyiv and Kyiv Region, Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv Regions.
In the city of Dnipro – August 1-3, 2018 for participants from: Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Lugansk, Sumy Regions.
The training program will cover three thematic modules:
- Human rights and development.
How are human rights related to the development of the community? Modern Human Rights Concept. National mechanisms for the protection of human rights.
- An approach based on human rights, its essence, purpose and basis.
Principles of a human rights-based approach. An approach as a basis for building local policies, development programs and as a tool to prevent discrimination. Provision of participation of vulnerable groups of the population.
- Strategy and planning of local projects and programs using a human rights-based approach.
Using a human rights-based approach at the stage of implementation of projects and programs, monitoring their implementation and evaluating the results. The role of cooperation between authorities and civil society organizations in achieving positive change and ensuring sustainable community development on the basis of a human rights-based approach.
As a result of the training, participants will learn how to develop ideas for local development projects and programs, taking into account the principles of an approach based on human rights.
During the training course participants are provided with food and accommodation. Travel costs are covered by the organizers in the case of presence of originals of travel documents of the established form.
The deadline for filing applications is 23:59 on June 18, 2018.
Participants will be notified on the results of the competition on June 26, 2018.
