This year’s open debate tournament on anti-corruption among the teams of legal clinics of Ukrainian universities was dedicated to discussing anti-corruption issues.
Powerful partners: EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI), Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine and Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union; current topics; independent professional judicial governance; the informal atmosphere of the event, and the special format of the debates are the keys to the success of the debate tournament of legal clinics held on December 4, 2017.
At the stage of selection from 16 applications representing all regions of Ukraine, 8 teams of debaters were selected. At the quarterfinal matches, the best four teams took part representing the following universities:
the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (Town of Irpin),
Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University
University of Customs and Finance (City of Dnipro)
and Ternopil National Economic University.
The teams from Dnipro and Ternopil advanced to the semifinals.
In the final, the team of the ‘Liberta’ Legal Clinic of the Ternopil National Economic University won the discussion on the expediency of establishing the Anti-Corruption Court.

- and it turns out that the first Deputy Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Maksym Hryshchuk is a native of the legal clinical movement!
